Technical Studies Program
About
Southwestern is proud to offer the most comprehensive summer technical theatre program for high school students in the state.
In addition to the one-on-one mentorship with the Technical Director, the program also offers hands on experience with the state of the art equipment and facilities housed by the Sarofim School of Fine Arts.
Technical students will leave the camp with a professional portfolio and resume of their work as well as a solid understanding of all the major elements of technical theatre.
Admission
We will accept 5 technical theatre students for this year’s camp.
The main criteria for successful application is the earnest desire to learn more about scenery, costumes, lighting, sound and stage management. The technical team will be expected to read and technically analyze all five scripts during the first few days of camp. Tech students will then be attending rehearsals and assembling the specific technical elements for each show.
